DESPITE extreme wet conditions at the 2015 Ryedale Show affecting attendance figures, the show council has decided that their charitable donations should continue this year.

As a result, donations have recently been made to the Farming Community Network (FCN) and RABI to help their continued support to those affected by the floods over the winter months.

Christine Thompson, Ryedale Show's general secretary, said: “As a registered charity ourselves we like to support other charities, both local and national, whenever possible and despite our own finances being greatly affected last year as a result of very wet weather, the council felt it appropriate that we should support the work carried out by FCN and RABI.

"Both are experiencing heavy workloads at the present time and this was seen as an ideal opportunity to help others within the agricultural industry.”
