YORKSHIRE Wildlife Trust is seeking to recruit trainees aged 16 to 24 to join a year-long placement developing their skills and experience within the conservation sector.

This summer the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will be looking to develop “Tomorrows Natural Leaders” as part of the ‘Our Bright Future’ programme which is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will be recruiting 24 trainees to join the placement.

Activities will include reserves management, habitat restoration, biodiversity monitoring, events management, campaigning, outreach and education.

Trainees will develop portfolios culminating in a self-led project to inspire young people to value and take action for wildlife and local communities in Ryedale. Placements will be based at Appleton-le-Moors and Flamborough.

The Tomorrows Natural Leaders scheme will match skills and experience with local employers in the green sector and help mitigate unemployment and labour supply challenges.
