RYEDALE’S Flamingo Land theme park and zoo was the most tweeted-about Yorkshire tourist attraction in the last year.
The park came out top in research by Welcome to Yorkshire, with York Minster and the National Railway Museum in second and third place.
Whitby Abbey, Harewood House, Beningbrough Hall and Gardens and Clifford’s Tower also made it into the top 10.
Welcome to Yorkshire’s Head of Digital Pete Wilson said social media is a valuable tool for Yorkshire’s tourism businesses.
He added: “People undoubtedly travel digitally these days so it’s really interesting to see the breadth of different places making their mark in this research. As the additional analysis shows, tourists use social media to make, shape and share their travel plans and experiences.”
