ROYAL Oak A successfully retained their Moors Darts League title with a game to spare after defeating Sun Inn A 7-3.

Adam Durrant was in fine form for Oak, scoring two 140s, 115 and a ton, along with Kev Fairclough (3x100 scores), Sam Farrow (120), Mally Durrant (100) and Tom Hodgson (121) as they built an unassailable lead in the individuals.

Sam Myers hit a 180 maximum but lost out to Sun’s Neil Robson (2x100) while John Bristow (100) also grabbed a singles point for Sun and a pairs point with Geoff Allen.

Buck Inn B sit comfortably in second as they also recorded a 7-3 victory, this time at White Swan.

Sam Dickson (5x100), Keith Dickson (140,3x100), Gav Harrison (160) and Graham Pinkney (116) starred for the Wrelton side while Josh Medd and Steve Cass notched a couple of points for Swan.

Medd got on the scoresheet again with Lynne Nichols in the first pairs leg.

Coach House had a clean sweep of the individual legs on their way to a 9-1 thrashing of visitors The Peacock.

Matt Cook (140), Damon Marley, Bry Cook (120), Rich Gillings (100) and Chris O’Hara (100) performed well for Coach, with Laura Milner and Michelle Maw (140,116) giving Peacock a hard earned consolation point in their pairs leg.

Dave Camp (100), Dave Pickersgill, Colin Pepler (140,100, 76 finish), Scott Plowman (2x100) and Darren Marsh gave New Inn a hefty lead at Buck Inn A with successful singles legs, with Phil Taylor (140,121) and Chris Freer (100) keeping Buck in with a chance of a draw.

Their hopes were dashed as Pepler and Plowman took a pairs win to give the Cropton side a 6-4 victory.

Royal Oak B compounded Sun Inn B’s poor run as they beat their hosts 6-4. Darren Sunley (125,100), Rich Sellars (100), Ian Sonley (140,100), Matt Bedford and Rob Sonley (116) set up the win for Oak with Oliver Stead’s fine 116 checkout in the pairs getting his team over the line.

Kev Reynoldson (140,2x100) was exceptional for Sun, individually and in the pairs with Jon Scarth, while Dave Wray, Sarah and Mick Hodgson won in the three-a-side.
